We are glad you have come to worship with us at St. Thomas Assembly of God. We have no printed "order of worship" nor complicated ritual to follow. the worship service is prayerfully prepared, but there is freedom of expression according to Scriptural pattern.

WHY DO WE CLAP OUR HANDS

"O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph" ~Psalms 47:1

WHY DO WE LIFT OUR HANDS?

"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands" ~Psalm 63:4

"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord"

WHY DO WE HAVE AUDIBLE PRAISE UNTO GOD?

"I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth"
~Psalm 34:1

WHY DO WE SING CHORUSES AS WELL AS HYMNS?

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God"
~Colossians 3:16

WHY DO WE HAVE SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND THE INTERPRETATION OF THOSE TONGUES IN THE CHURCH?

"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal...to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues"
~1 Corinthians 12:7,10

WHY DO WE PROPHESY?

"But everyone who prophesies speaks for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort"
~ 1 Corinthians 14:3

WHY DO WE ANOINT WITH OIL AND PRAY FOR THE SICK?

"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up"
~ James 5:14, 15
